چکیده

The edge state theory of a class of symmetric double-layer quantum Hall systems with interlayer electron tunneling reduces to the sum of a free field theory and a field theory of a chiral Bose field with a self-interaction of the sine-Gordon form. We argue that the perturbative renormalization group flow of this chiral sine-Gordon theory is distinct from the standard (non-chiral) sine-Gordon theory, contrary to a previous assertion by Renn, and that the theory is manifestly sensible only at a discrete set of values of the inverse period of the cosine interaction (β̂). We obtain exact solutions for the spectra and correlation functions of the chiral sine-Gordon theory at the two values of β̂ at which the electron tunneling in bilayers is not irrelevant. Of these, the marginal case (β̂2 = 4) is of greatest interest: the spectrum of the interacting theory is that of two Majorana fermions with different, dynamically generated, velocities. For the experimentally observed bilayer 331 state at filling factor 1/2, this implies the trifurcation of electrons added to the edge. We also present a method for fermionizing the theory at the discrete points (β̂2 ∈ Z) by the introduction of auxiliary degrees of freedom that could prove useful in other problems involving quantum Hall multi-layers. Generalized solution of Sine-Gordon equation

In this paper, we are interested to study the Sine-Gordon equation in generalized functions theory introduced by Colombeau, in the first we give result of existence and uniqueness of generalized solution with initial data are distributions (elements of the Colombeau algebra). Then we study the association concept with the classical solution.

Chiral Potts model and the discrete Sine-Gordon model at roots of unity

The discrete quantum Sine-Gordon model at roots of unity remarkably combines a classical integrable system with an integrable quantum spin system, whose parameters obey classical equations of motion. We show that the fundamental R-matrix of the model (which satisfies a difference property Yang-Baxter equation) naturally splits into a product of a singular “classical” part and a finite dimension...

New study to construct new solitary wave solutions for generalized sinh- Gordon equation

In this work, we successfully construct the new exact traveling wave solutions of the generalized Sinh–Gordon equation by new application of the homogeneous balance method. The idea introduced in this paper can be applied to other nonlinear evolution equations.

Exact solution of a massless scalar field with a relevant boundary interaction

We solve exactly the “boundary sine-Gordon” system of a massless scalar field φ with a cosβφ/2 potential at a boundary. This model has appeared in several contexts, including tunneling between quantum-Hall edge states and in dissipative quantum mechanics. For β < 8π, this system exhibits a boundary renormalization-group flow from Neumann to Dirichlet boundary conditions. By taking the massless ...

Hamiltonian Curve Flows in Lie Groups G ⊂ U (n ) and Vector Nls, Mkdv, Sine-gordon Soliton Equations

A bi-Hamiltonian hierarchy of complex vector soliton equations is derived from geometric flows of non-stretching curves in the Lie groups G = SO(N + 1), SU(N) ⊂ U(N), generalizing previous work on integrable curve flows in Riemannian symmetric spaces G/SO(N). The derivation uses a parallel frame and connection along the curves, involving the Klein geometry of the group G. This is shown to yield...
